PianoCraft was started 50 years ago with one idea: there had to be a better way.
The PianoCraft journey started 50 years ago with the idea that there had to be a better way to approach the piano business. From the very beginning, what drove PianoCraft was the understanding that each piano has its own unique voice, each client has their own tastes, needs and requirements, and the price of the piano isn’t the only determining factor of its potential to perform.
Over those 50 years, PianoCraft has grown and changed.
PianoCraft is now known not only in the DC metro area, but around the world for selling some of the finest new, pre-owned, and rebuilt pianos including Steinways from every era, Steingraeber & Söhne, Baldwin and Estonia and many others. The PianoCraft shop has grown to become a world class rebuilding facility, known not only for using the best materials and craftsmanship, but for having an equally uncompromising focus and insight into the piano’s performance. The PianoCraft service business has developed a reputation as providing the very highest level of service regardless of whether they’re working in the largest concert hall or in a modest living room.
While we are delighted every time a PianoCraft piano is featured on a concert stage, we're just as thrilled when young students and their families visit us to select their first piano. Over the years we have built strong relationships with area piano teachers to be able to be a resource to young pianists. Literally thousands of piano students have performed on the stage of Rothenberg Hall, our in-house concert space. The touch and tone students experienced on one of our concert grands is familiar because we devote a similar amount of attention to preparing our upright and baby grand pianos. This approach harkens back to our earliest days and remains central to our identity.
